Florence Alstat, age 87, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 11:50 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital Skilled Care Unit, Pinckneyville, IL.
Florence was born on May 14, 1921, in Ava, IL, a daughter to William and Anna (Bettag) Rosenberger. On September 16, 1950, she married Joseph Alstat in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Ava, IL and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1974. She worked in the laundry department of St Joseph Hospital, Murphysboro, IL for many years. Florence was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church and St. Bruno quilters.

Survivors include one son: Dale (Beth) Alstat of Ava, IL, two grandchildren: Christina (Jason) Buser of Vergennes, IL and Travis J. (Kelly) Maynor of Dowell, IL, three great-grandchildren: Gracie Maynor and Chase and Clayton Buser, and one brother: Raymond Rosenberger of Ava, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, IL.
