Obituary appeared in paper March 13, 1913 -
Solomon Blaine, an aged resident of Paulding and one of the county's pioneers, died at his home in the west part of town Sunday morning, March 2nd, 1913. Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon, by Rev. Waite, pastor of the Church of Christ. Interment in Live Oak cemetery.
Mr. Blaine was born in Delaware county, Ohio, and was 85 years of age. He moved to Paulding county many years ago and after a residence of some time in Emerald township, purchased a residence here and moved to Paulding. November 15, 1855, he was married to Susannah Stanley. To this union six children were born. His wife died eight years ago.
He was a veteran of the civil war, having served as a private in Co. H. 121st O.V.I.
Following is a _____ of the out of town relatives who were in attendance at the funeral: Joseph Blaine and daughter Eva, Orland, Ind.; Ben Blain, Powell, Delaware county, O.; William Blaine, William Bay, ___; Mrs. Sadie Ewers and three children, of Toledo; Aley Dixon, of Ft. Wayne; Elga Ewers of Findlay.
