Hello--
I think Carrie was the stepdaughter of Halvor Knudsen, the illegitimate daughter of his wife Guro Torgelsdatter.

I found her record by while tracing Halvor's family and was curious enough to try to figure it out.
Guro went out to Buxton, Traill, North Dakota, but I can't find her in the lousy North Dakota death index, since I don't know what they gave as her surname at the time.
