David Hymon Atcheson will be held at the First Baptist Church in Clanton on Monday, Jan. 22, 2001 at 2 p.m. with Mr. Wayne Atcheson and Dr. Larry Michael officiating. The family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001 from 3-6 p.m. Born on Nov. 25, 1911 in the Macedonia community in the northern section of Chilton County, he was the son of the late Frank and Bevie Atcheson. A Southern Baptist Minister for 64 years-serving in a wide variety of roles throughout the county during that time-he died on Jan. 19, 2001 at the age of 89. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lora Deen Atcheson; three sons, Gerald Atcheson and wife, Francine of Birmingham, Wayne Atcheson and wife, Barbara, of Tuscaloosa and Randy Atcheson and wife, Elizabeth, of Birmingham; a sister, Mattie Argo of Maplesville; two granddaughters; two grandsons and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his son, David Hymon Atcheson, Jr., his parents and two brothers, A.G. Atcheson and B.F. Atcheson.
