SPRINGHILL, LA - Funeral services for Ralph Barnes will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery, Haughton. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Ramsey and Michael Gray.

Ralph was born February 5, 1921 in Springhill and entered into rest Tuesday, September 1, 2008.

He was a retired SMSGT of the United States Air Force and a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. and Margaret Barnes; wife, Bernice Barnes; son, Thomas Gary Barnes; and two brothers, Rev. T.W. Barnes and Rascoe Barnes.

He is survived by daughters, Judy Wooten and husband Tommy of Minden and Beate Marx Gotz of Germany; son, Jerry Huddleston and wife Carrie; sister, Ethel Walker of Springhill; grandchildren, Deborah Edwards, Lisa Brown, Gary Griffin, Mike Huddleston, Sherry Pipkin and Tommy Barnes, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Amber Mixon, Lace Ann Edwards, Amber Rhodes, Wade Rhodes, Trey Pipkin and Samantha Pipkin.

Pallbearers will be Mike Gray, Jason Brown, Bill Edwards, Barry Walker, Daryl Walker and Mike Huddleston.

The family wishes to thank the Louisiana War Veterans Home, Dr. Fleniken and nursing staff, Patsy, Zarthenia and Cheretta.
