Lee was in Pueblo, Colorado in 1910, married to Nettie McIntosh. They had several children (Leroy L., Everett W., Earl Francis, and possibly another son named Bill or Bob who may have died young). Lee served in World War I, mustered into the Colorado National Guard. He became a Sergeant in Company F of the 40th Division's 115th Ammunition Train.
Lee married Sylvia G. after 1920. In 1930 they had three girls: Lucille Irene, Jeanne (or Gene) E., and Virginia L.
