Elsie M. Andrews, 93, Woodcrest Nursing Home, Decatur, died there at 4:50 p.m. Saturday.
She was born on January 5, 1902 in Adams County to William and Sarah B. Jackson Arnold and married True M. "Tabby" Andrews on December 24, 1924. He died on Jun3 10, 1990.
She was a retired home economics teacher at the former Berne High School and a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Decatur and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are three sons, Max E. Andrews, Fullerton, California; Larry A. Andrews, Fort Wayne; and Robert H. Andrews, Decatur; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Betty) Johnson, La Habra, California, 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sisters, Glennys Schindler and Mary Arnold, and three brothers, Homer, Vernon and Kenneth Arnold.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mark's United Methodist Church, with burial in Decatur Cemetery. Visiting hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Haggard and Armes Funeral Home, Decatur, and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Preferred memorials are to the church's building fund.
