The body of Arlington J. Ash, whose death occurred at his home in Kansas City last Tuesday, was brought to Holton for burial last Thursday night. Mrs. Ash and daughter, Nadine and Virginia, and Mrs. K. D. Rinehard accompanied the remains to Holton .... Mr. Ash’s birth on the Parallel north of Holton, forty-seven years ago, of his education at Lane University at Lecompton, and of his subsequent marriage to Miss Sadie Scott, daughter of the late Dr. John T. Scott and Mrs. Scott .... Some months ago physicians pronounced Mr. Ash fatally ill of Bright’s disease, he resigned his position with a manufacturing company and moved from Bloomington, Ill., to Kansas City and purchased a home on Benton Boulevard ... death resulted from a stroke of apoplexy while at work in the basement of his home. Besides numerous relatives in Holton and Jackson county, he leaves a widow and two daughters, Nadine and Virginia.
Pleasant Grove. .... He was born and reared in this neighborhood. He has one sister, Mrs. Charles Bottenberg, living in the vicinity. [Later in column.] Mr. and Mrs. Ira Ash attended the funeral of A. J. Ash ....
