From the LeCompton Historical Society newsletter, "Bald Eagle" (Winter 1987); [Frederick] "was a friend and supporter of the United Brethren Church, and during his stay in Iowa, he had held an official relationship with Western College there. During his residence in Lecompton of thirty three years, he was a constant friend of Lane University and was, for many years, a member of the board of trustees. He was also called upon to fill numerous offices in the city and county governments." Frederick B. Hill is listed as a postmaster in Lecompton in 1865.
