My mother's grandmother. She loved to watch "wrestling" on television, and had a strange hobby. She caught locusts and would put 8 - 10 into a sealed jar along with a few tablespoons of turpentine, which both killed & preserved the noisy creatures. She then painted the beasts and impaled them with 4-inch hat pins so they could be attached to the curtains in her home. Her parents opened the first bank and hotel in Hollister, OK, and she was related to Jay Gould, the railroad baron.
