Sara Merle Cross Cosse of Atlanta, Georgia died March 1, 2002 at Mariner Health of NE Atlanta. Mrs. Cosse was a longtime resident of DeKalb County. A graduate of Girls High of Atlanta and Georgia State College for Women, Mrs. Cosse taught in the DeKalb County Public School System for eighteen years. She was active in the Oak Grove Chapter of Life Enrichment where she served in many capacities. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Mrs. Cosse was the acknowledged leader of her branch of the Adams family from Newton and Walton Counties. Mrs. Cosse was a gracious, gentle teacher for all who knew her.

Two beloved husbands, George L. Cross Jr. and Clayton C. Cosse, and a granddaughter, Gwendolyn Diane Cross preceded her in death. Two sons, one daughter, and four grandchildren, survive her. For many years she was a member of Peachtree Road Lutheran Church, serving her church in ways too numerous to count. Later in life she became a member of Wieuca Road Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held at Wieuca Road Baptist Church Sunday, March 3rd at 2:00 p.m. and followed by a graveside service at the Adams Family Cemetery in Newton County.
