Margaret was first married to Samuel Paddock, to Daniel R Rion, and finally to James McAferty. Her place of death name in the obituary, Ontario, Kansas, is an unincorporated place near Wetmore. It mostly lies in Jackson county, but part of it is in Nemaha county, so her actual place of death could be in either county. If anyone has better information, please suggest an edit. Thank you.
Death notice in the Holton Recorder, January 26, 1899:
Grandma McAferty died on Monday, January 16, and was buried in the Soldier cemetery on Tuesday. A short service was held at the U.B. church, conducted by Elder Mayfield. The funeral will be preached next Sunday morning, at Oak Grove, by Rev. Wykert.
