Vincent J Caruso
WELLSVILLE - Vincent J. Caruso, 67, of 1022 Commerce St. died Monday afternoon at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh following a long illness.
A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Caruso was born June 20, 1917, in Wellsville, a son of John Caruso and Angeline Puch Caruso.
He retired in 1979 from the former Crucible Steel Division of Colt Industries in Midland where he was a heater and recorder.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Josephine Leon Caruso, at home, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jo Ann Meadows of Wellsville and Mrs. Mary Kauffman of New Cumberland, W.Va.; three brothers, Andrew Caruso and John Caruso, Jr. both of Wellsville, and Carman Caruso of Marion; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Fr. Joseph Rushton.
Burial is to be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Roberts Funeral Home, where a prayer service is to be held 7:30 p.m.
