Cora Louisiana Westbrook Funderburk

15 Mar 1935 - We are grieved to report the death of a very prominent Sabine citizen, Mrs. Cora W. Funderburk. Mrs. Funderburk was the daughter of Martha Ellen Orr and Martin Van Buren Westbrook. She lived practically the 31 years, 2 months and 19 days of her life in Sabine Parish.

Mrs. Funderburk was the wife of William Harold Funderburk. She was the mother of three children, two girls and one boy, Ima Lee, 4; Bonnie Jene, 2; Vinon Holace, four months.

Death had been expected for several days before it came at 10:15 p.m. Feb. 28. She was quietly taken away into the great beyond.

Mrs. Funderburk was laid to rest in the Prospect Cemetery. Rev. J.M. Pate conducted the funeral services.

She is survived by her husband, William Harold Funderburk; three small children; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Martin Van Buren Westbrook; brothers Joseph "Joe" Westbrook of Hornbeck, Steven "Steve" J. Westbrook of Florien, Benjamin Franklin Westbrook of Gandy, Van Leo Westbrook of Florien, O.R. "Ray" Westbrook of Alexandria, Amos Allen Westbrook of Silsbee TX, David P. Westbrook of McNary AZ, Nathan J. Westbrook of Beaumont TX; sisters Mrs. Eddie Houston (Exie V.) Cook of Florien and Mrs. Arthur Marvin (Ellen Era) Funderburk of Alexandria.
