Tribute of Respect

We the committee appointed to draft resolution on the death of Brother Adams came from Marshall county, state of Mississippi, in the year 1872, to Peach Creek in this county and state. He has resided continuously in Gonzales county since that time until his death on the 22nd of January, 1892, at the age of 41 years. In expressing our sorrow at his loss, we beg to submit the following resolutions:
1sr. That while bowing to the will of the Supreme Ruler of the Universe who in His wisdom has seen fit to remove our brother from among us, we deeply deplore the loss thereby sustained, he having proven himself to be a true and worthy brother of Shuler lodge No. 317 A.F. & A.M., always ready to act a brothers part as far as his ability would permit and always ready to serve the lodge when called upon by the W. M.
2nd. That we extend to the heart broken wife, sorrowing children and relatives, our heart felt sympathy and pray that the allwise God may send comfort and consolation to them, binding up their broken hearts and enable them to see a silver lining behind this dark cloud of affliction, and may they be enabled to read in the law of God's promises "I will be a Father to the fatherless and a husband to the widow."
3rd. That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the Gonzales paper and a copy to the family of our deceased brother.
