Elizabeth married William PAYNE on December 27, 1870, in Vermilion County, Illinois. William was a widower with young children, and Elizabeth entered the marriage with a son of her own from her previous marriage. Her first marriage was to John MORRIN (or MORAN) on April 6, 1866, in Cuyahoga Co., Ohio; the marriage ended in divorce. Her son (Curtis) was about two years old when Elizabeth married William Payne; the child died before 1880.

Elizabeth birthed at least seven children during her 18-year marriage with William. The first four died so young that not even their names have survived. Child #5 was a girl, named Artemesia Frenetta; she died when she was seven days old, in 1880. Her #6 child with William was Mary, born in 1883. Her #7 child with William was Hettie, born in 1885. Both of those last two children survived to adulthood and had children.

William died in December 1888. In October 1889, Elizabeth married William's brother Able. Two days before Elizabeth and Able married, Able had divorced his wife of 24 years -- the mother of his son.

Elizabeth was the daughter of Abram F. OLIVER and Margaret E. SHARP. Elizabeth had two brothers: Peter and John. In 1850, Elizabeth and her family were in New Scotland, Albany Co., New York. In 1855, the family was in Ira, Cayuga Co., New York.
