Services for Cordelia Adams, 89, of Ralls will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 1, 2008 in the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Haddock, Rev. Donny Harvers and Rev. Larry Carson officiating. Burial will follow in the Floydada Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Cordelia passed away Monday, August 25, 2008 at the Ralls Nursing Home.

She was born on August 4, 1919 in Hardeman County near Goodlett to the late John Allan and Delia (Braker) Helms. On July 5, 1939 she married Robert Henderson Adams in Quanah. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1973.
Cordelia was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church. She worked at the Ralls Nursing Home from 1973 to 1978 and then worked at the Ice House restaurant for several years. After that she worked at the Ralls Historical Museum until her retirement in 1999. She moved to the Lockney area in 1952 from Sundown and then to Ralls from Lockney in 1972. She was also a former resident of Plainview and South Plains.

Cordelia is preceded in death by a son Robert Wayne Adams who died on April 28, 1972, five brothers; Brady, Fred, Plesant, Cecil and Johnny Helms and a sister Mima Lamb and a daughter-in-law Veda Adams.

Survivors include; her children; Allan and Gail Adams of Ralls, Larry and Lois Ann Adams of Hamlin, Fleeta and Monroe Shannon of Shamrock, 10 grandchildren; Leeta Adams Prather and Stacy of Sweetwater, Ok, Kyle Adams and Sarah of Amarillo, Lon Adams and Nikki of Hedley, Kandace Arrott and Brian of Ballinger, Bryan Adams and Robyn of Highland Village, Toby Adams and Lisa of Flower Mound, Tracy Graham and Keith of Anson, Todd Adams of New Braunfels, Aaron Shannon of Shamrock, Hugh Shannon of Lubbock, two step grandchildren; Nathan Colwell of Lubbock, Brent Colwell of Hamlin and 13 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 31, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
