Truus, age 89, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on August 26, 2008 surrounded by her family. She resided at 5466 South Revere Drive (1045 East) in Murray, Utah at the time of her death.

She was born to Cornelis Hendericus and Maria Gesina Wilhelmina Koelmeyer on November 2, 1918 in Haarlem, Netherlands. She was the youngest of four children. Married Harry Kranendonk on March 22, 1939 in the Netherlands. She immigrated to the United States on April 20, 1939. Truus' life was filled with adversity, beginning with her immigration to the US during the depression and ending with her year-long battle with Cancer.

The sweetness in her life came from her children. She was strong spirited, kind, loving, self sacrificing and gave advice freely. She was a tender-heart and a great mom. Truus was athletic, adventurous and always ready to try new things. In her youth, she was an avid soccer player, winning regional championships. If the sport included water, she usually loved it. She spoke many times of riding home on her bicycle after swimming in the North Sea and having ice cycles hanging from her hair. She snorkeled for the first time at the age of 80 and also enjoyed fishing. Sharing memories with Truus was a great joy. Truus was overwhelmed with the beauty of the Rocky Mountains where she built a cabin after retiring. She was hard-working. If unable to do something herself, she enlisted the help of others. All one needed to do was to tell her what was needed and it appeared. Truus was a great foreman and always showed her appreciation of others. Truus was very creative and talented. She knitted beautiful sweaters, crocheted afghans and embroidered many projects. She had a passion for painting; not pictures, but her house and cabin. She loved her yard and always kept it immaculate. She was a voracious reader.

Survived by her children: Sandra (Bruce) Sears, Marie (Duane) Chapman, Pamela (Verl) Boren, Marsha (Robert) Brown, Bruce (Dawna) Kranendonk, and Deborah (Steven) Quist, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, sisters Cora and Marie, brother, Theo, husband, Harry (divorced), Michael, son.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Mountain View Memorial Eaststes Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South) at 11 a.m. Friends and Family are invited to call on Friday one hour prior to services.
Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Estates Cemetery.
