He was born Nov. 2, 1907, in Dayton, to John Wesley and Rebecca (Marshall) Lias.
Mr. Lias was an engineer for McDonald Douglas in Los Angeles. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Glade Run Presbyterain Church, where he participated in many church activities. He was a private plane pilot and made many acquaintances when he flew into Canada, Mexico and the continental United States until his mid-80's.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Harold, William, Thomas, Dale, Eugene and Kenneth Lias; and two sisters, Gladys Wilson and Marie Blaney.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 17, 2000 at 1 p.m. at the Glade Run Presbyterian Church with his pastor, Rev. Donald Rising officiating and Rev. Ray Lias providing the eulogy. Interment will be in Glade Run Cemetery, Wayne Township.
