William Thomas Eatherton married Bessie Mae Teter on May 30, 1911 in Elmer, Macon County, Missouri. They had four known children:

Alvin Eatherton 1914–
Jewlester Eatherton 1915–
Benjamin Franklin Eatherton 1917–1951
William Louville Eatherton 1920–1940

On September 12, 1918, when William registered for the World War I draft, he was employed as a coal miner for Central Coal and Coke Company, Ardmore, Macon County, Missouri.

In June 1920, Bessie died two days after the birth of son William Louville, of puerperal sepsis infection. Six months later, on December 18, 1920, husband William remarried to Susan Viola Mae "Ola" (Evans) Moore, a widow of 10 months who had 9 children ranging in age from 17 to 1 year.

William and Ola had three known children of their own:

Viola Pearl Eatherton 1922-2000
Opal Lavonia Eatherton 1923-2007
Bettie F. Eatherton 1924-1924

Less than five years after William and Ola married, William died on May 21, 1925 of pulmonary tuberclosis at the age of 44. Ola's first husband William Wesley Moore had also been a coal miner and had died of the same disease at the age of 41. William was buried at Oakland Cemetery.

Less than one month later, Ola married again, interestingly to a third man named William who was also a coal miner. His name was William Clabe White, and they had three more children together. Ola married a 4th time in 1953, and died in 1955. She is also buried at Oakland Cemetery.
