Mr. Loyd Garland Crowder, age 75 of Lanagan, Missouri, was called to heaven on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. at the Freeman Neosho Hospital in Neosho, Missouri with his loving family by his side.

Loyd began his journey on May 20, 1933 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, born to the late George and Amy (Lunderman) Crowder. He was raised in Grove, Oklahoma and graduated from the Grove High School. He married the love of his life ~ Alice Chaffin on April 20, 1979 in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they made their home in Lanagan, Missouri. He was a supervisor at Talbot Industries in Neosho, Missouri for 35 years retiring in 2003 at the age of 70. Loyd, known to his friends and family as "Crowder" liked to travel, work on his trucks and wood working. He was quite the storyteller and enjoyed sitting in his yard just visiting with friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents (1979 and 1968), step mother Pansy (1987) and daughter, Twila (July 25 2000).

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years ~ Alice Crowder of the home; two daughters, Carol Adair, Rachel Shorter and husband, Cobb all of Wyandotte, Oklahoma; a step-son, Darrell Cook, Jr. and wife, Donna of Lanagan, Missouri, a step-daughter, Peggy Thompson and husband, Terry of Lanagan, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Misty Slayton, Gisele Adair, Austin Shorter, Dustin Shorter all of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Gerard Cook and wife, Kasi of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Jeffery Cook of Anderson, Missouri, Malena Thompson of Lanagan, Missouri; a brother-in-law, David Chaffin and wife, Cathy of Norwalk, Iowa, sister-in-law, Joan Broyles and husband, Richard of Rogers, Arkansas; along with a host of friends and neighbors whom will dearly miss Crowder.
