The funeral for Clarice Marian Hoeft will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing, with Rev. Loren Lucht officiating. Burial will be in Cross of Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery in Welch.

Mrs. Hoeft, 78, of Red Wing, died Tuesday (Aug. 26, 2008) at Fairview Seminary Home in Red Wing.

Clarice Marian Hinrichs was born July 24, 1930, in Red Wing. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1948. On Sept. 16, 1950, she married Lloyd J. Hoeft in Red Wing.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and was an active volunteer in many organizations. She was a caregiver to many people and enjoyed traveling, playing cards and baking.

Survivors include five children, Jeanne (Robert) Raway of Hastings, Minn., John (Lois) Hoeft and Janet (Duane) Daley, both of Welch, June (Ken) Books of Ellsworth, Wis., and Jetty Hoeft of Hay Creek; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and a brother, Gordon (Linnea) Hinrichs of Red Wing. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 11, 1996.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.

Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church.
