ALBERT NASH DIES
Resident of this County Half Century - Funeral on Birthday

Albert R. Nash, aged 78 years, 11 months and 28 days, died at his home, 2 miles north and 1 mile west of Melrose at 10:45 Wednesday night, July 25, 1934, after an illness which began last December.

Funeral services were held from the home on his 79th birthday, Friday at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Miles Cook, pastor of the Christian Churh at Galena. Burial was in the Baxter cemetery.

Albert R. Nash was born in Champaign county, Ohio, on July 27, 1855. At the age of 15 he moved with his parents to Crawford county, Illinois, later coming to Kansas in 1876. He returned to Ohio in 1877, and married Miss Eva Britton. To this union were born two children, one of whom died in infancy. The other, Mrs. Nora Coy, of Neosho township, survives her father.

The family returned in 1880 to Kansas, and here Mrs. Nash died in 1886. In 1887, Mr. Nash was married to Miss Mary McKee in this county, and their six children survive, with their mother, and are: Percy and Howard, who live near the home place; Mrs. Orpha McPherson, Mrs. Helen Ellis and Mrs. Clara Westervelt of Kansas City; and Mrs. Mamie Imel of near Faulkner, Kansas. Mr. Nash is also survived by 22 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters, Miss Dora Nash of Baxter, Mrs. Charles Gaba of Vinita, Oklahoma.

The deceased was baptized into the Christian Church in 1885 and has been a faithful member ever since.
