Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington, with a vigil beginning at 7.

Stephen was born Sept. 3, 1968, in Dallas to Leroy and Diane Hampton Appelman. He was self-employed and loved taking care of his tropical plants. Stephen met many friends online through his joy of reworking flashlights. He was heavily involved in the online community flashlightnews.net as a board member and flashaholic.
