Mason City, Ill., Dec. 10 - L.K. Patterson, died at 8:50 o'clock this morning from the injuries received on Sunday evening when thrown from a buggy during a runaway. Mr. Patterson's head came in contact with a telephone pole, and he was rendered unconscious, and although attended by the best of medical skill did not regain consciousness.
Leland K. Patterson was born June 18, 1850 [sic].
About thirty years ago, he was united in marriage with Miss Emma Trent, and to them were born three daughters.
Ever since childhood, Mr. Patterson has been a respected resident of this vicinity where he had many friends.
Besides his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Effie Myers of near Middletown, Miss Mazie Patterson at home and Mrs. Frances Corbin of this city, he is survived by his aged mother, who resides with her son-in-law in Logan county; one brother, Charles Patterson, of near this city; and one sister, Mrs. Emma Miller, of Logan county.
