Ethel Mae Fowler Cobb, 100, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2008.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday at Western Hills Church of Christ. Interment: Private in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Ethel was born Dec. 2, 1907, in Coleman County to Bulter Baily Fowler and Jessie Copeland Fowler. She married Sam Cobb in 1937 and they moved to Fort Worth in 1941. Ethel taught for 45 years in Coleman County, Castleberry ISD, Benbrook Elementary and Fort Worth ISD. She also taught Sunday school and English to many Korean families through her church. She was a mentor to many young women both in her church and her neighborhood and worked in World Bible Study as a volunteer.
Her memberships included Better Business Association, Christian Women's Club, the Order of the Eastern Star, the PTA and Western Hills Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Cobb; her parents; and three brothers.
Survivors: Brother, Joe Fowler and wife, Mary, of Granbury; sisters-in-law, Joann Fowler of Fort Worth and Burna Fowler of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and neighbors.
