Charles Jefferson Yearian, a sexton at the First Presbyterian Church for seven years before retiring, died Wednesday at Palomar Hospital. He was 80.
Born in Ravenswood, W.Va., he had lived in California 23 years, 13 in Escondido. He lived in Erie, Pa., before coming to California. Mr. Yearian was a member of the Community Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine, daughters Betty Bauerlein of Escondido and Edith Finch-- of Auburn, Washington; sister Merle Schoonover of Marietta, Ohio; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
