Historical Notes taken by Fred Mieswinkel for Mount Vernon Cemetery:

Lawrence County Record Aug. 30, 1906:
Davis- Albert Edward, d. at his home this city Monday. b. Stratford, County of Perth, Province of Ontario, Canada, 1855. Father and mother b. Bristol, England. Came to Mt. Vernon about 25 years ago and engaged in tombstone business. Md. Jennie Hammer. Mrs. Davis and the 3rd child, Jennie, died in March 1891. Eldest child, Mrs. Thresa Mayden, of Billings and her brother Albert, Jr., with him in last hours. Bd. Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Albert and Jennie had two children that lived and one child that died in child birth which took Jennies life also.

Theressa was the eldest and married a man by the name of John Mayden. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, Theressa divorced John around 1906 and afterward married a man by the name of Fred Tyree. There were no children issued between Theressa and John but she did have children with Fred.

Albert was the youngest (Jr.) who went to Alaska as a young man circa 1906 and was involved with the Alaska gold rush. He retuned to Mt. Vernon upon his fathers death and later found himself working for the railroad out of Omaha Nebraska.

Albert Jr. also attended William Jewel College in Liberty, Mo.
