The following was a newspaper clipping written by his grandmother Leona Christian after his death.
In loving memory of our darling baby Rayburn Clell Christian, age 3 yrs, 8 wks and 3 days, whom God saw fit to call away from our loving arms Tuesday morning at 2:45 o'clock and left our hearts torn and bleeding and some times it seems it is more than I can bear, but God has promised to be with us in our sixth trouble and our seventh he would not cast us out, and if we go to Him in prayer he will lighten the burden, while I miss him every second of the day, his sweet little words, his fond embrace and his sweet, loving kisses, which were so dear to me. I know that he is sleeping in peace. I weep not, as those that have no hope, for I know by the Grace of God I will meet him again where there will be no more sad goodbyes. He was such a sweet, loving child. Everyone that knew him loved him.
Our little babe has gone to rest,
To reign with God, forever blessed.
His little tongue will always sing
A Savior's love redeeming Grace.
Could we see his little tears
Delighted with that happy place
We could not wish him back again,
But say, Babe, with Christ remain.
