Joseph T. & Cynthia (Whiteley) Bohannon. Joseph was a s/o Elijah & Sarah Norris Bohannon. Elijah was b. ca 1790-1794 White Co, Tn and prob. died 1834-1840 as he disappears from White Co 1833-1834. He is on 1820 & 1830 White Co. census.
On 15 Oct 1831 Elijah Bohannon sold his 1/18 share of William Bohannon's (his father's) land to his brother-in-law, Thomas Barnes, in White Co (Deed Bk H, p. 329). Elijah is on the 1833 White Co. Tax List. In 1840 wife Sarah is possibly the older female (40-50) living in h.h. of son Abner, in Madison Co, Ar. In 1850 Sarah is living alone in Prairie Twp of Madison Co. and aged 56. In 1860 she is living in h.h. of son, John, in Madison Co. and aged 69.

Joseph T. Bohannon b. May 1820-1822 White Co, Tn, d. 3 Aug 1903 Clifty, Madison Co, Ar, (Will probated 1905 in Madison Co), bur. Bohannon Cem, Madison Co, Ar, m. ca 1839 to Cynthia Whiteley, d/o Isaac & Mary Susannah(Johnson) Whiteley, b. 14 Feb 1824 Tn, d. 1908-1916, bur. Proctor, OK. We haven't located Joseph on the 1840 census, but could be living in household of brother, Abner, in Madison Co, Prairie Twp. There is a male b. 1825-1830 and female b. 1820-1825 living with Abner. They are too old to be his children. Joseph is listed on the 1845 Madison Co, Ar Tax List. On 1850 census they are in Prairie Twp of Madison Co. All the years afterwards (1860,1870, 1880, 1900) they were in California Twp in Madison Co. In 1900 Cynthia says she had given birth to 12 children and only 5 still living at the time of the census. I only have record of 9 children. The others possibly died young.
