Georgia Bowen was the daughter of Henry Clay Bowen and Georgia Carmichael Rothrock Bowen. She was born in Rappahannock Station, but the town changed it's name in 1890 to Remington, in Fauquier County, Virginia. It was formerly called Millview and in 1850 it was Bowensville. Georgia married Leslie Meade Brittle.

On the 1920 Lee, Fauquier Co., VA census, I found general merchandise clerk, Leslie M Brittle, 44; Georgia B Brittle, 39 and son Harry B Brittle, 3 8/12, all VA born.

On the 1930 Lee, Fauquier Co., VA census, I found feed store merchant, Leslie M Brittle, 55; wife of 22 years, Georgie B Brittle, 50 and son Harry B Brittle, 13, all VA born.

On the 1940 Remington, Fauquier Co., VA census, I found hardware store owner merchant Leslie Brittle, 65; wife Georgia B Brittle, 58; son and farmer of own farm, Harry B Brittle, 23, and servant Mary Hull, 65; all VA born.

Georgia Bowen Brittle was born 7 Mar 1879 in Fauqier Co., Virginia, to parents Harry Clay Bowen and Georgia Rothrock. She was the spouse of Leslie Meade Brittle. On 24 Feb 1958, she died in Remington, Fauquier Co., VA. VA CD.

KB shared her middle name was Rothrock, based on her grandmother's family history.

Her gravestone says she was born in Rappahannock Station, and her death certificate says Fauquier Co., VA. Rappahannock Station is in present-day Remington, in Fauquier Co., Virginia.
