Sally Cadle married Elijah Lilly b. 8/20/1809(brother of Robert "Randle Bob" Lilly) on 2/8/1827 Giles Co, VA. They settled on a farm near Flat Top, Summers Co, WV. He was one of the justices of the peace appointed by the Governor of Virginia for Raleigh County at is formation in 1850.


They had 9 children:
1. Isabel Jane b. 1828 in Mercer Co. WV;
2. William Henry "Hickory Bill" b. Apr. 4, 1831;
3. James W "Jerusalem Jim" b. 1834;
4. Thomas Edward "Tickle Breeches" b. 11/2/1835;

Dienna "Dicy" Cadle m. William Gunnoe 1/11/1836 Giles Co, VA. Their eldest son, Thomas - a Confederate soldier, returned home to Hinton, WV after the war. Because the area was "of the north", the family changed their last name to Ball around 1871.

Nathan Cadle married Sally Meadows 3/28/1821 Giles Co, VA.
