WILLIAM AFFOLDER, 77, RETIRED CONTRACTOR, DIES UNEXPECTEDLY
William Affolder, 77, well known retired building contractor, died unexpectedly at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home, 1004 Mercer avenue.
He was born in Berne April 7, 1895, a son of Fred and Elizabeth Burke-Affolder, but had lived in Decatur for many years. He was married to Lovina Egger Oct. 14, 1916.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Haugk of Decatur and Mrs. S. David (Kathryn) Somers of Yorktown; two sons, V. W. (Bun) Affolder of Decatur, and Rolland Affolder of Muncie; one sister, Mrs. Edwin (Selma) Bixler of Berne; three brothers, Henry Affolder of Lorain, O., Edwin Affolder of Berne, and Tilman Affolder of Geneva; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Three brothers are deceased.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Winteregg-Linn funeral home, with Rev. William C. Feller officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today until time of the services.
