Andrew A. Bisaha, 79, of Vandergrift, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Independence Courts, Monroeville. He was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Leechburg, son of the late Joseph and Dora (Murciak) Bisaha.
Andrew lived in Vandergrift most of his life.
Prior to his retirement in 1982, he worked as a roller at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army.
Andrew was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift, Slovak Club, North Vandergrift, and DAV and VFW, both in Vandergrift.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Steve, Adam and Paul Bisaha; and three sisters, Mary Wawryznik and Dora and Louise Bisaha.
Andrew is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Mary L. (Trunzo) Bisaha; four children, Anita M. (Kevin) Higgins, of Charlotte, N.C., Andrew J. Bisaha, of San Diego, Calif., Anthony (Debra) Bisaha, of Athens, W.Va., and Alicia Bisaha, of Monroeville; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Joseph and Anthony Bisaha and Chloe, Brandon, Ariel and Evan Higgins; and sister, Eva Froncek, of Ford City.
Friends will be welcomed by his family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, Vandergrift.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift, with Father Chad Ficorilli, O.S.B., as celebrant. Everyone please meet at the church.
Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift, with full military honors accorded by Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard.
