The Whittier News, Friday, February 27, 1920 Page 1, Col 2-Winfield S. Lane Claimed By Death: Winfield S. Lane of 741 South Painter Avenue passed away at 11 o'clock last night, following an ilness of 2 weeks' duration. He is survived by a wife and an 11 year old son, Alvin. Other immediate relatives also living, include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lane, a sister Mrs. Helen Blackburn, a brother Charles, all of East Whittier and a sister Mrs. J.R. Stilson of Chile. Mr. Lane who was but twenty nine years old, had lived in Whittier and vincinity during his entire life. For some time he had been in the employ of the Murphy Oil Company. The funeral services which will be in charge of the Elks, will be conducted ta White's Chapel at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Interment will take place in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
