Nora Hope "Jo" Bass was born April 13, 1924, in Benton Illinois, to the late James Lyman and Lola Madge Frailey. She grew up and attended school in Macadonia, IL.

Jo married Bonteel Jones and they made their home in Canton, where Jo owned and operated Jo's Beauty Shop. Bonteel preceded her in death in 1985. Jo married Denver Bass in 1987, and they made their home in Edgewood. Jo moved her beauty shop to Edgewood, where she worked as a hairdresser. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Edgewood, the TEL Sunday school class and she also sang in the choir. Jo enjoyed playing the omni cord and accompanied herself and Denver as they sang at various churches and nursing homes. In January of 2003, she and Denver moved to Wills Point. She loved reading, playing the piano and singing. Jo was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Jo is survived by her husband, Denver Bass of Wills Point; daughters, Sherry Culver and husband, John of Dallas and Sis Bearden and husband, Larry Joe of Forney; son, Casey Jones of Canton; step-daughters, Shirley Mathis of Richardson and Sue Pickens and husband, Mark of Edgewood; step-son Gary Bass and wife, Sharon of Edgewood; sister Elsie Waite of Huber Heights, OH, brothers, Jim Frailey of Jamestown, IL and Larry Joe Frailey of Michigan; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Services for Jo Bass, 82, of Wills Point were scheduled for Friday, March 2, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Edgewood, with Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Canton, under the direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood.
