John was the son of John & Anna[-] Starkweather. He was born 16 Sept 1680 in Ipswich Mass. On 28 Dec 1708 in Preston, CT by Rev. Salmon Trust John married Mary Herrick. The family lived in the North West corner of Stonington where it borders on Preston. The anecdotal story is that John was thrown from a horse while in Roxbury and died there as a result of the accident.
