Mabel Mower Peterson, age 95, passed away peacefully February 14, 2000 in West Valley, Utah.

She was born Jan. 9, 1905 in Milburn, Utah to Cecilia Jensen Mower and William Mower.

Married James (Goldie) Peterson, October 30, 1922.

He preceded her in death April 11, 1973.

Mabel was a member of the LDS Church, where she served as Choir Director.

She lived a full and productive life.

She was an expert seamstress, cook, loved music and doing handwork- crocheting, knitting, and especially tatting.

Enjoyed gardening, canning and loved little children.

She was the proud mother of Glade Peterson.

He brought Opera to Utah and started the Utah Opera Company.

Preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, James (Goldie) Peterson; daughter Alene Wilring; son, Glade G. Peterson; grandson, Steven Peterson.

Survivors: Mrs. Glade (Mardean) Peterson; Mrs. Douglas (Colleen) Scow; Cloyd (Jeanne) Peterson; Gerrit (Winona) Peterson; Nyle Peterson; Mrs. Stephen (Rhonda) Lee; 30 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 42 great great-grand-children.

Special thanks to the staff at Rocky Mountain Care Center for their kindness in caring for our mother.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, Feb 18, 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Memorial Estates, 5850 South 900 East.

Friends may call Thursday evening, 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to Services on Friday at the Mortuary.
