Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston. Memorials may be made to Good Shepard Lutheran Church, where he was a member, or to Iroquois Memorial Hospice. He died Thursday (Aug. 14, 2008) at his home.
Mr. Tobeck worked at Stokely's in Milford and Hoopeston and farmed in the Milford and East Lynn area for many years. After retirement he worked for his brother's plumbing business and helped other farmers. He was born Aug. 11, 1930, in Watseka, the son of Edward C. and Bertha Teske Tobeck. He was an elder and trustee at his church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lorraine May Sullivan, whom he married May 20, 1950, in Woodworth; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Barbara Tobeck of Manassas, Va.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sheila Tobeck-Mastin of Watseka, Marijo and Michael Stevenson of Kankakee, Gloria and Rick Sims of Sycamore; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Esther Glauser of Watseka, Lucille and Larry Marshall of Orange, Calif., Alice Cluver of Lansing; and three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Edward L. Tobeck of Watseka, Larry and Nancy Tobeck of Milford, Roy and Vineta Tobeck of Hoopeston.
Deceased are one brother, Arthur; and two sisters, Dorothy and Marlene.
