Velma Elliott, age 88, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Tuesday morning, August 19, 2008, at the Warsaw Health & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. She was born in Mountain Home, Arkansas, on July 15, 1920, the daughter of Frank and Anne Cockrum.
She moved to Kansas City, Missouri, with her family and attended school there. She made her home in Kansas City where she was later employed as a bakery worker for Sunshine Biscuit Company.
On July 8, 1967, she was united in marriage to Arthur T. Elliott. They made their home in Kansas City until moving to Warsaw in 1986.
Velma was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Covington, of Littleton, Colorado, and Jim McLaughlin, Mound Valley, Kansas.
She is survived by one son, Harold Covington, of Warsaw, twelve grandchildren., one sister, Annabelle Laughlin, of Warsaw, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Visitation will be Friday evening from 7 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw.
