"SANDY" ABBOTT DIES AT AGE 70
C. C. (Sandy) Abbott, 70, of route 3, Decatur, a retired farmer and former employee of the Adams County Highway Department and State Highway Department, died at 5:45 a.m. today at the Adams County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient three weeks. He had been in failing health for the past year.
Born in Wells County on June 10, 1904, he was the son of Nelson and Lucy Bright - Abbott and was married on June 27, 1925 to Lola Gerber, who survives.
Also surviving are four children: Wendell of route 3, Decatur; Mrs. Frederick (Patsy) Bittner of route 5, Decatur; Don of Monroe, and Vernon of route 1, Geneva; one sister, Miss Frances Abbott of Decatur; one brother, Clarence, of Convoy, O. and 15 grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Zwick funeral home, with Rev. Leroy Mickley officiating. Burial will be in Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
