Leslie R. Tucker, age 77, of Valparaiso, Fla., passed away Aug. 17, 2008, at Twin Cities Hospital.
He was born in Holly Springs, Miss., to Leslie C. and Mary Ross Tucker. Leslie earned his bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University, was an Army veteran and worked for Civil Service on Eglin as an electrical engineer until his retirement. After his retirement, Leslie had a small engine repair business and enjoyed riding his John Deere tractor so much he would cut other people's lawns for fun.
Survivors include his niece, Lisa Lowry Brock; special friend and caregiver, Betty Mikles; her granddaughter, Geneane Mikles; and a host of close friends who cared deeply for him and enjoyed his jokes.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home of Niceville. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Barry Hosford officiating. Interment will follow in Heritage Gardens Cemetery.
