She was born Feb. 24, 1933, in Chelsea, the daughter of Russell and Estel Hutsel Nighbert. She attended school and was raised in the Chelsea community. She lived for several years in Westport, Conn., before moving to The Watermark in Bridgeport. She was an avid tennis player and an active fundraiser for various Republican Party activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Knoebel; one son, Jeffrey Knoebel; her parents; one sister, Ruth Laverne Comingore; and two nieces.
A memorial Mass was at the Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport, Conn.
