They were the parents of two children: Charlotte Jo "Josey" Mitchem b. 11/26/1935 (m. William E. Smith); and Donald Rankin Mitchem (11/22/1937 (m. Barbara Ann Stewart b. 5/23/1940). Ernest Paul Mitchem was a general contractor and civil engineer, employed by Seagram's Distillers, Charlotte, NC, and later a realtor.
