Claxton – Mrs. Mamie Brown Blitch, 87, died Wednesday at Pulaski Nursing Home in Pulaski after a long illness. The Bulloch County native lived in Evans County most of her life. She was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Daisy. Surviving are a son, Andrew Blitch, Jr. of Claxton; two daughters, Ms. Thelma Huff of Rahway, N.J., and Ms. Willie Mae Bacon of Aurora, Ill.; five sisters, Ms. Agnes Moody of Florida, Ms. Lillie B. Huff, Ms. Lucy Williams, Ms. Mae Frances Robinson and Ms Ida B. Norman; a brother, Clifford Brown, Jr., all of Rahway; 27 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. Funeral: 3 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, burial in Old Jerusalem Cemetery in Groveland. Harper's Funeral Home of Claxton.
