Robert Franklin Baker, 68, widely known farmer and stockman, and for many years owner of the Baker Gin, died at his home Monday morning, October 7, at 3 o'clock following an illness of three weeks. Mr. Baker was born in Winston county, Mississippi, October 17, 1871, the son of E.F. (E.S.) Baker and LeVenda (Louvenia) Dawkins Baker, natives of that state. He married Miss Della Ann Thomason of Winston county in February, 1891, moving to Santuck Arkansas, with his wife, a son and four daughters in 1904. Three years later, the Baker family came to live in Warren where another daughter and two sons were born. Of the eight children, six survive their father. Mr. Baker was a member of the W. O. W. Lodge and the Lutheran church. Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Douglas L. Baker; five daughters, Mrs. R.H. (Sallie) Rowe of Hot Springs, Mrs. W.B. (Bessie) Crosley of Dumas, Mrs. Joe (Willie) Griffin, Mrs. Grady Hughes (Mamie Sue) and Mrs. W.A. (Bookter) Daniel; a sister, Mrs. J.T. Vickers of Ingalls; four brothers, W.J. Baker of Louisville, Mississippi, M.E. Baker and Avery Baker of Ingalls and J.T. Baker; and seven grandchildren. -- Obituary Dated 10 October 1940 Eagle Democrat, Warren, AR
