OBITUARY: JOHN J. HOY, 63, DIES THIS MORNING
John J. Hoy, 63, dies this morning at his home in Kinney Gulf. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cortland, and of the Cortlandville Grange.
A resident of Cortlandville for 32 years, he was born in Upper Paxoon, Pennsylvania, June 19, 1881, the son of Christian A. and Kate Freymoyer Hoy.
Surviving are his wife Katie Hoy, four sons, Lee A. Hoy, Dryden, Elmer Hoy, Canandaigua, and Carl M. Hoy and William E. Hoy of Kinney Gulf; two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Grace) Brown, of Freetown, and Mrs. Robert (Pauline) LeRoy of Cortland; two brothers, Daniel F. Hoy of Cortland, and Ralph A. Hoy of Groton City; two sisters, Mrs. Roy A. Heimbouth and Mrs. James Baer of Millersburgh, Pennsylvania; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Earle W. Wright Funeral Home. Rev. R. C. Lankler will officiate. Burial will be at Cortland Rural Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening between 7 and 9 p.m.
