She retired as a clerical worker in 1981 and moved with her husband to Dallas, where she resided until 1997. In 1997 she moved to Fairbanks.
Virginia was associated with the First United Methodist Church in Fairbanks.She enjoyed gardening and made fine crocheted doilies and tablecloths. Big Band music and Christian hymns were her favorite. She loved adventure and finding and doing new things. Christmas was her favorite time of year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin. Survivors include her daughter, Connie Meugniot Thornberry of Bend; son, Thomas Allen Meugniot of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
