Greer, a native of Maryland, in Hancock Co., Ohio, where Asa Lake had gone with his parents in the winter of 1821-22. They were the first couple married in Delaware twp., Hancock Co., Ohio. They settled at what became Mount Blanchard, Ohio, upon a farm where he made the first land entry in the twp., on Dec. 12, 1822. This farm he improved, and later laid out what became the town of Mt. Asa M Lake's headstone was reset in the Fall on 2008 by the Delaware Township Trustees.
