LENNIE MEDFORD
SPRUCE PINE – Lennie Medford, 89, of the Altapass community, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002 in the Brian Center. She was the daughter of the late samuel Nelson and Rosa Williams Biddix, and wife of the late Lee Medford. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Norma Thomas, one son, Frank Medford, and one infant grandson. A homemaker, she was a member of Altapass Church of God.
Survivors include three daughters, Vivian Harris of Marion, Rose Lee McDowell of Mill Springs, and Carolyn Vance of Asheville; two sons, Fred Medford and Jack Medford, both of Spruce Pine; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Vince Hefner, Steve Sisk, Mitch Brittain and Joe Biddix officiated. Burial was in McKinney Gap Cemetery. The family received friends from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777, or to the Brian Center, 218 Laurel Creek Court, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
